UPSC CSAT 2018 Application Form & Eligibility


Every year UPSC CSAT Examination is conducted and this is divided into two conducted among interested candidates and in this examination, no sectional cutoff is followed. Based on two papers, Candidates will be examined. Eligibility of all candidates will be checked based on general studies and general abilities. New pattern is followed in Civil Services Aptitude Test and it is announced by Indian Government in two divisions General Studies and General Ability Test. This is an important test conducted for candidates of interested and they have to work hard in terms of getting good marks.

Exam Pattern:

Syllabus of General Studies:

  • 100 questions will be asked totally
  • Total duration is 2 hours in this examination
  • Candidates have to attend this test for 200 marks
  • Questions will be asked based on subjects such as Current Affairs, Indian Polity and Governance, History of India and Indian National Movement, Economic and Social Development, Indian and World Geography, Bio-diversity and Climate Change General Science and General issues on Environmental Ecology,

Syllabus of General Ability Test:

  • In this General Ability Test, 80 questions are asked totally
  • 2 hours will be the total duration
  • For total 200 marks, candidates have to attend this test
  • Questions are asked based on mandatory subjects

Question Details:

Totally 80 questions are asked.

  • Economy Basic Numeracy – 19 questions will be asked
  • General Mental Ability – 12 questions will be asked
  • Decision Making & Problem Solving – 6 questions will be asked
  • Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning – 12 questions will be asked
  • Comprehension (Both English & Hindi) – 23 questions will be asked
  • English Language Comprehension Skills – 8 questions will be asked

Important Dates:

  • During the last week of May month, candidates can able to receive important notifications
  • Before the last week of June month, candidates are needed to apply for this examination
  • Examination will be held on the last week of month of August
  • In the mid week of December month, Civil Service Examination will be commenced

Application Form submission:

  • Candidates have to make their payment before the last dates published by the examiner
  • Form submission can be done easily through offline and they can contact desk centers for all doubts and clarifications
  • Candidates should visit official websites in terms of filling and submitting application forms on or before last dates mentioned by the examiner
